Kingsville and the Jack Miner Migratory Bird Sanctuary Announce the Annual 56th Migration Festival

The Town of Kingsville and the Jack Miner Migratory Bird Sanctuary will be hosting events together as part of the 56th annual Migration Festival taking place Thursday, October 16, to Sunday, October 19.

Migration Festival is a celebration of our town’s heritage and stewardship of nature and serves as a signature event for artists.

Here’s everything happening throughout the weekend:

Thursday, October 16

  • Great Migration Paint Out — Art Competitions – Kingsville
    • Adult Competition, Two Hour Quick Paint Competition, Children and Youth Competitions
    • All weekend long
    • Register for a competition here

Friday, October 17

  • The Great Migration Kick-Off featuring Bigg Wiggle — Grovedale Arts and Culture Centre
    • Buy tickets here for $20 per person, $10 goes to support 2nd Kingsville Scouting
    • Bowl of chili with your ticket thanks for 2nd Kingsville Scouting
    • Doors open at 6:00 PM

Saturday, October 18

  • Parade — Downtown Kingsville
    • Begins at 10:00 AM and ends around 11:00 AM
    • Parade route is Main Street down Division Road South ending at Lakeside Park
    • Register your float, display, or idea here
  • Children’s Activities — Lakeside Park
    • 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM
    • BBQ with Kingsville Lions Club, lawn games, birds of prey demonstration, Border City Barkers, rides on the Kingsville Express and more
  • Migration Market — Lakeside Park Pavilion
    • 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
    • Free to attend

    Migration Festival at Jack Miner — Day 1 — Jack Miner Migratory Bird Sanctuary

    • 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM
    • Tours, kids’ activities, fish pond, food/goods vendors, straw maze, bird banding demos, and more
  • Jack Miner Local Brewery Beer Market — Jack Miner Migratory Bird Sanctuary
    • 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM
    • Beer, wine, spirits, food trucks, and live music in Ty Cobb Field
    • Entry by donation
  • Honkin’ Round the Town Bike Tour with Bike Windsor Essex — Carnegie Arts & Visitor Centre
    • A leisurely bike tour around Kingsville with Bike Windsor Essex – weather permitting
    • Begins at Carnegie Arts & Visitor Centre at 1:00 PM, ride ends around 3:00 PM

Sunday, October 19

  • Pancake Breakfast — Jack Miner Migratory Bird Sanctuary
    • Begins at 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
    • Delicious family breakfast
    • By $5 donation
  • Migration Festival Car Show — Jack Miner Migratory Bird Sanctuary
    • Begins at 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM
    • See hot rods and classic cars
    • Registration is $15, opens at 9:00 AM
  • Migration Festival at Jack Miner — Day 2 — Jack Miner Migratory Bird Sanctuary
    • Begins at 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM
    • Tours, kids’ activities, fish pond, food/goods vendors, straw maze, bird banding demos, and more
  • Canadian Raptor Conservatory Bird Show — Jack Miner Migratory Bird Sanctuary
    • Free shows at 12:00 PM, 1:00 PM, and 2:00 PM
    • Learn about nature’s flying hunters
  • Jack Miner and Harvest Bike Tour with Bike Windsor Essex — Carnegie Arts and Visitor Centre
    • Celebrate the harvest season with Bike Windsor Essex on a 20km roundtrip – weather permitting
    • Begins at Carnegie Arts & Visitor Centre at 1:00 PM, ride ends around 3:00 PM
  • Great Migration Paint Out Art Exhibition “Show and Sale” — Grovedale Arts and Culture Centre
    • Meet the artists, buy art, vote for your favourite for the People’s Choice Award, cash bar
    • From 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Award presentations at 4:00 PM
