Council Brief from September 15, 2025 Meeting

At its September 15, 2025 meeting, Council:

  • Approved a Zoning By-law Amendment for Gardner Estates and directed Administration to tell the County the Town has no concerns or comments with the proposed Draft Plan of Subdivision
  • Adopted an Engineer’s Report related to the Smith Newman Drain Branch – Extension
  • Approved a Drainage Contracting Services Roster for a three-year term
  • Approved a Tender for the replacement of the Road 3 West over Nelson Drain Bridge
  • Supported a request for Branco Estates to extend subdivision approval for a two-year period
  • Adopted Part Lot Control By-law 55-2025 to exempt lots 1-12 and 15-18 on Plan 12R-30165 (175 Wigle Avenue) from Section 50(5) of the Planning Act
  • Authorized Administration to retain architectural consulting services to:
    • Review the feasibility of relocating the Ontario Provincial Police – Kingsville Detachment to the Municipal Office at 2021 Division Road North
    • Complete a programming and needs assessment of all Town Hall Departments (Including Public Works and the Water and Wastewater Department) to conceptualize the required building and property size needed for a future Town Hall and Public Operations yard
  • Supported Kingscoast Estate Winery’s Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario application for a “Manufacturer’s Limited Liquor Sales Licence – By-the-Glass Endorsement” at its manufacturing site
  • Directed Administration to send formal correspondence to Fisheries and Oceans Canada to initiate discussions on potential land acquisition in the Cedar Island Channel
  • Authorized Administration to use the former Cottam Centre and Library lands exclusively for Kingsville Fire Department parking and training, once demolition is complete
  • Approved Parks and Recreation Operational Standards and Service Levels with an amendment to include the southwest portion of Mettawas Park in Waterfront Class 2 maintenance.
