For the first time in nearly 10 years, delegates from Tecumseh, Michigan, will join the Opening Ceremonies. This reunion began when the Optimist Club revived old traditions and was furthered by the connection between Councillor James Dorner and Council Member Austin See of Tecumseh, Michigan. Both veterans, their commitment to public service renews the ties between the two communities.

“The Tecumseh Corn and Music Festival has always been important to our town. This year is extra special as we celebrate with our community and our sister city of Tecumseh, Michigan. In times of tension between our countries, it’s great to see an event like the Corn Fest bring us together,” says Councillor James Dorner.

“The Optimist Club of St. Clair Beach organizes family-oriented events year-round, including the Victoria Day fireworks, fishing derby, trunk or treat, annual charity raffle, Christmas toy drive, and more,” adds Rob Drake, President of The Optimist Club of St. Clair Beach and Co-Chair of the event.

Funds raised from the festival support local charities and community projects throughout the year, strengthening the Tecumseh community.
