Minth Enters JV With AISIN Bringing Jobs, Opportunities To Region

Minth Group Ltd enters joint venture with one of the world’s largest Japanese Tier One automotive suppliers

Building on its nearly $300-million initial investment, Minth Group Ltd. is launching the next phase of its North American growth strategy through a transformative joint venture with AISIN Corporation, a globally recognized Tier One automotive supplier.

This partnership signals the commencement of phase two in the development of Minth’s manufacturing expansion in Windsor-Essex, marked by the construction of a second 150,000 sq. ft. facility that will bring even more skilled jobs and opportunities to the region.

The newly formed Minth-AISIN joint venture leverages the manufacturing excellence, innovation capacity, and global customer reach of both organizations. This expansion will build on Minth’s 379,415 sq. ft. facility already underway at 5000 Cabana Road East on 54 acres at the Windsor International Airport.

AISIN Corporation, headquartered in Kariya, Japan, is one of the world’s largest Tier One automotive suppliers. With over 191 consolidated companies and more than 120,000 employees worldwide, AISIN recorded revenues exceeding $34 billion US in its most recent fiscal year. Its operations span North America, Europe, Japan, and China, with core competencies in drivetrain systems, brake systems, powertrain, electrification components, and intelligent mobility technologies.

As a major supplier to Toyota and virtually every top global automaker, AISIN’s deep expertise in next-generation automotive systems makes it a strategic partner in advancing vehicle electrification, lightweighting, and sustainability.

This collaboration with Minth will further solidify Windsor-Essex’s position as a North American hub for electric and hybrid vehicle component manufacturing, while enabling both companies to scale up production, meet rising OEM demand, and deploy cutting-edge technologies across the continent.

This new development also includes the design and construction of an additional 150,000 square foot advanced manufacturing facility, which will complement the first building currently under construction. This new site is expected to generate hundreds of new high-quality jobs and will be instrumental in producing key aluminum, steel, and polymer-based parts for electric vehicle platforms across North America.

This latest investment follows Minth’s original commitment to create 1,099 direct jobs and aligns with ongoing regional efforts to support EV supply chain development and next-generation automotive innovation. The City of Windsor, the Province of Ontario through Invest Ontario, and Invest WindsorEssex continue to play a pivotal role in supporting the Minth Group’s long-term growth strategy. The City of Windsor has also supported the project through the City’s Community Improvement Plan.
