At the Leamington Council meeting of Tuesday, August 26, 2025, Council will:
- Receive a presentation from John Mascarin, Partner, Aird & Berlis LLP, with regard to Strong Mayor Powers.
- Hold a public meeting under the Drainage Act to consider:
- Adopting a report provided by Peralta Engineering with regard to two new access bridges on the East 10th Concession Road Drain; directing that the project be tendered and should the said tenders be within the engineer’s construction estimate of $100,742, authorizing the Manager of Engineering to award the tender and enter into necessary agreements.
- Hold a public meeting under the Planning Act to consider approving Zoning By-law Amendment No. 353, which seeks to rezone the subject lands at 420 Oak Street East from a Residential Zone (R2) to a site-specific Residential Zone (R3-25) permitting two multi-unit residential dwellings.
- Consider a report regarding a funding request made by the South Essex Arts Association (Leamington Arts Centre).
- Consider modifications to the Salaried Pay Policy and Salaried Policy for non-union Municipal employees and approve the proposed 2025 salary grid for full-time, non-union positions effective September 21, 2025.
- Consider a report on a Municipal Accommodation Tax and authorize Administration to continue to investigate a municipal accommodation tax (MAT) for Leamington, when appropriate.
- Consider awarding The Waterfront Destination Market Plaza and Parking Lot Construction Project contract to Amico Infrastructures Inc., in the amount of $5,498,299.00 (plus applicable taxes).
- Consider approving Spaans Babcock Inc. as the supplier of new Archimedes Screw Pumps for the upper pumping station at the Leamington Pollution Control Centre at a total cost of $551,569, excluding HST. And authorize a Purchase Order to Spaans Babcock Inc. in the amount of $110,314, excluding HST, for preparation of manufacturing shop drawings.
