Collision In Leamington Leads To Impaired Charges

On August 3, 2025, at approximately 5:56 a.m., members of the Leamington OPP Detachment along with Essex-Windsor Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to a two-vehicle collision on Seacliff Drive West, Municipality of Leamington.

Officers arrived on scene and determined that a female driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to local hospital. Upon speaking to the second involved driver, officers determined that they had previously consumed alcohol and was arrested and transported to a local detachment for further testing.

As a result, a 36 year old male resident of Leamington, has been charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Dangerous Operation causing bodily harm

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor on August 20, 2025.
