OPP Reminds Community Of Road Closures This Weekend

Hogs For Hospice event will bring increased traffic and road closures

The Essex County OPP would like to remind the public that the Hogs for Hospice Motorcycle Rally is set to take place this weekend in Leamington, bringing in thousands of visitors to the county.

As a result, residents and visitors can expect road closures, increased traffic and possible delays around the event in Leamington from August 1 until August 3, 2025.

The OPP is asking for the public to be patient due to the increased motorcycle traffic that is expected. Drivers are being asked to be extra vigilant and take a little more time when checking blind spots, mirrors and signalling turns. These safe driving practices will help to prevent unnecessary collisions and increase road safety for everyone.

There will be a highly visible police presence during the event to ensure the safety of those in attendance.  Officers will be on hand to assist with any traffic related issues, provide directions, and maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone.

New this year will be enhanced security to enter the concert area, including the use of handheld metal detectors and baggage searches.

Seacliff Drive West will be closed from Erie Street South to Sherk Street, as will Forest Avenue from 2 p.m. Friday August 1st until 8 p.m. on Sunday August 3rd, 2025.

Essex County OPP appreciates the community’s patience and cooperation during this event and is also urging everyone who will be attending this event to plan rides ahead if consuming intoxicating substances.
