Fort Malden National Historic Site is offering free regular admission all month long, making it the perfect time to explore this local gem.
As part of the Canada Strong Pass, the Government of Canada is offering free admission to national parks, national historic sites, and national marine conservation areas operated by Parks Canada and a 25 per cent discount on camping fees from June 20 to September 2 inclusive.
Free admission includes:
- Entry to all national historic sites, national parks, and national marine conservation areas operated by Parks Canada; and
- Free lockage at the seven canals administered by Parks Canada on historic waterways.
Please note, the Canada Strong Pass covers admission fees; other fees, such as fees for special programs and events, still apply.
There is so much going on at Fort Malden National Historic Site!
In addition to daily programming with costumed interpreters and hands-on exhibits, August features two exciting special events:
- 🎭 Living History Festival – Saturday, August 2 and Sunday, August 3
Step back in time with military demonstrations, heritage trades, music, and more. This immersive event brings the 19th century to life and is a highlight of the summer season. Special event fee of $5.75 per person.
- 🕵️♀️ Murder Mystery at the Fort – Saturday, August 16
Guests become detectives for the evening as they unravel a historical whodunit set within the walls of the fort. It’s a unique and interactive way to experience the site after hours. Special event ticket price of $20.25.
