A contractor will be repainting the lines for the new right-hand turning lane on Main Street East. Work is scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM tonight.
OPP will be onsite to direct traffic while the work is completed. Motorists should use caution when driving though the work zone.
A traffic engineer was retained by the Town and it was determined that the intersection was large enough to add a dedicated right hand turn lane for west bound traffic on Main Street East. This will improve traffic movement and reduce congestion in the downtown core.
Repainting traffic lanes is useless if there is no enforcement, no parking zones are continually abused.
