Horticultural Society Unveils Pollinator Sign

I’m sure you’ve seen the new pollinator garden down at Lakeside Park near the Pavilion.  This garden was established by the Kingsville Horticultural Society over the past few years.

In 2021, Heather Crewe (Past President) and Chris Childs (horticulture member) took a leading role in the design and procurement of a sign for the garden. The purpose of this sign is to teach us the names of some of the pollinator plants in the garden.

Since Kingsville has recently become a Bee City and pollinators attract bees and butterflies, this garden fits in with that plan, as well.

The Kingsville Horticultural Society would like to thank our Mayor, Dennis Rodgers and Deputy Mayor Kim DeYong and everyone else who came out to witness the unveiling of the sign on Friday, May 24th.

Next time you visit Lakeside Park, have a look at the sign and see if you can identify any of the plants. Once the flowers bloom, it should be easy!
