At the January 8, 2024 meeting, Council:
– Adopted an Engineer’s Report prepared by Baird AE and dated November 9, 2023, for enclosing a portion of the Division Road Drain North. Council provided authorization for the project to be tendered and for the Senior Manager of Capital Projects and Engineering to award the tender and enter into necessary agreements, should the said tenders be within the Engineer’s construction estimate of $300,175.
– Endorsed the Lighting Guidelines for Site Plan Applications and specifications relating to clean-out caps and urban driveways and directed Administration to amend the Kingsville Development Standards Manual accordingly.
– Approved By-law 03-2024 being a By-law to Licence Boarding, Lodging and Rooming Houses (BLRH) in the Town of Kingsville and repealed By-law 62-2023 which is the earlier version of the same By-law. Council also authorized Administration to submit set fines related to By-law 03-2024, to the Ministry of the Attorney General for approval.
– Supported correspondence received from the Town of Essex regarding Town of Bruce Peninsula Resolution R-407-2023 – Amendments to the Highway Traffic Act for Use of Automated Speed Enforcement Systems, and directed Administration to send a letter of support to the necessary parties.
– Directed Administration and the Migration Festival Committee to brand the own’s October Event as “The Migration Festival” and not adopt any new or revised name without Council’s approval.
– Directed Administration to negotiate a lease renewal at updated market rental rates with the Ruthven Montessori Academy Inc. for their continued use of the lower level of 1695 Elgin Street, Ruthven, ON.
