The Town of Kingsville is thrilled to announce the 54th annual Migration Fall Festival is in full swing!
The Great Migration Paint Out started today (Thursday, October 19). During this outdoor painting competition, you will see artists setting up and painting ‘en plein air’ all weekend.
Tomorrow (Friday, October 20), Jody Raffoul with his bandmate will perform an acoustic set at the Grovedale Arts and Culture Centre from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Tickets are $15.00. You can purchase them online, in advance at the Kingsville Arena, or at the door. Your ticket price includes a vegetarian chilli, nachos, a side, coffee/tea, and a slice of pie or cake. A cash bar is available at the venue.
Saturday (October 21), we have a day FULL of family activities!
10:00 am: Join us for the Migration Fall Festival Parade. The parade route runs north up Wigle Avenue, turns west onto Main Street, south onto Division Road, and ends at Lakeside Park.
Or grab your bike and join the fun! Bike Windsor-Essex holds the Honkin’ Around the Town Bike Tour, a one-hour special Migration Fall Festival bike tour around Kingsville. Meet Justin at the Parade Staging area on Wigle Ave (about halfway down the road) at 9:30 am. Once the parade ends, continue cycling with stops at Migration Fall Festival sites. The route has on-road and gravel trail sections. Suitable for average and higher-level riders. Weather permitting. Free!
11:30 am: Lions Park will host various activities for the kids, including:
- Birds of Prey demos
- Balloons from Jangles the Clown
- Nature Crafts
- Music and Games
- Kingsville Lions Club BBQ
- KEYS EarlyON activities in their outdoor classroom
- Mad Science and make your own slime
- Face Painting with the Arts Society of Kingsville and Paint Me Crazy Daisy
- Kingsville Optimist Club activities
- Join the Kingsville Community Policing Committee for some pumpkin carving!
Jack Miner’s Migratory Bird Sanctuary is also running family-friendly activities. See their flyer for upcoming activities and times.
10:00 am – 12:00 pm: Great Migration Paint Out artists compete in this year’s Quick Paint competition at Mettawas Park! See who wins the grand prize, and purchase a piece of “just-made” art!
10:00 am – 4:00 pm: The Migration Festival Marketplace runs out of the Grovedale Arts and Culture Centre. Stop by to browse unique gifts and crafts and support local vendors.
Sunday (October 22) brings more fun!
9:00 am: Jack Miner’s has a pancake breakfast by donation and a car show. See their flyer for details!
1:00 pm – 3:00 pm: hop on the Jack Miner and Harvest Bike Tour led by Bike Windsor Essex! Celebrate the harvest season with stops at farm stands, wineries and the Jack Miner Migratory Bird Sanctuary. Rides depart from the Carnegie Arts & Visitor Centre. Route features on road and gravel trail sections. Suitable for intermediate and higher level riders. Weather permitting. Free!
1:00 pm – 5:00 pm: join us for the Great Migration Paint Out Art Reception “Show and Sale” at the Grovedale Arts & Culture Centre. We’ll display entries for judging; many will be available to purchase. Meet the artists and vote for the People’s Choice Award while enjoying music, finger food from the Kingsville Lions Club, and a cash bar. Award presentations begin at 4:00 pm.
