Town of Kingsville Council Brief from August 14, 2023 Meeting

At its August 14, 2023 meeting, Council:

– Heard a presentation from Essex Windsor Solid Waste Authority regarding regionalization of waste collection and directed administration to bring back a report on community engagement about an acceptable level of service.

– Approved the creation of the ‘Environmental Reserve District’ (ERD) and the zoning update of multiple environmental, park, and open space parcels in the Town of Kingsville

– Supported an extension of Queens Valley Subdivision approval for 2 years

– Authorized a transfer of $80,000 from the Park Reserves for the Lions Park Inclusive playground.

– Appointed Dillion Consulting as the consulting engineer for drainage works required for the Highway 3 Widening Project

– Passed an amendment to the Property Standards By-law which regulates exterior lighting

– Deferred the approval of Code of Conduct Policy until they receive more education and training from the Integrity Commissioner

– Approved the Facilities Review recommendations from the July 17 2023 Committee of the Whole Meeting
