Early in July, the Essex County Library posed this question: Which Municipality is the most well-read?
We urged everyone to take the “Read For Your Municipality Challenge” and earn a claim to fame and earn bragging rights. The challenge kicked off on Monday, July 3.
All the participants had to do was read. That’s right. Just read. Anything and everything. Books, magazines … and then just log the number of pages that were read. Nice and easy!
Logging the numbers could be done by visiting any of our branches or by using our form online.
Well, the results of the Read For Your Municipality Challenge are in!
First Place
The winning Municipality is LaSalle with 220,029 pages read
Second Place
The Municipality of Essex with 172,052 pages read
Third Place
The Municipality of Kingsville with 155,996 pages read
Congratulations to all for reading almost 1 MILLION pages this summer!
Interesting that LaSalle seemed to come out ahead. Many financially successful people say they read a book a week. If you look at stats canada…LaSalle has the highest avg income in the area. So it appears, there is truth to what they say.
