In partnership with Ontario Clean Water Agency, the Environmental Services Department will begin its annual valve maintenance program this week. “They will be exercising the 800 mainline isolation valves we have in our water distribution system,” said Manager of Public Works and Environmental Services, Shaun Martinho. “This may result in minor disruptions to service, such as reduced pressure and discoloured water.”
The Town reminds residents that discoloured water is not a health hazard. “If water discoloration occurs, simply run your cold water tap until the water clears,” Martinho advised.
The maintenance program should complete in November 2021.
