Nelly Wolbers
With heavy hearts, we are saddened to announce the passing of our “sunshine lady” Cornelia “Nelly” Margaretha Wolbers (Mulder) on June 12th, 2025 at the age of 92. Nelly was born on August 18th, 1932 to parents Johannes Harmannes Mulder and Johanna Helena Mulder-Pijfers in Hardenberg, Holland and grew up on a farm with her nine beloved siblings during the Nazi occupation of WWII.
She is predeceased by her husband Jerry (2001), her parents, and late siblings; Bertus Mulder, Jan Mulder, Annie Peters-Mulder, Mien Leek-Mulder, Antoon Mulder, Jans Mulder, and Rieks Mulder.
Nelly will be greatly missed by her family, especially Denise Wolbers-Coulter (Kevin Dewar), Niklaas (Stephanie), Holden and Olympia Coulter; Michelle, Reg, and Maddy Morin; and surviving brothers Gerard Mulder and Johan Mulder of Holland. She was a favourite aunt to many and will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews whom she always made an effort to call, visit and send cards to for every occasion.
In her last days, our sweet Nelly was very vocal in her excitement to be reunited with her beloved granddaughter Meghan (2024) who she said was “holding the door open for her.” Our sweet Nelly was a proud member of the St. John de Brebeuf Catholic Women’s League for many years.
Nicknamed the Sunshine Lady, Nelly was always known to be genuine, kind and a “no-nonsense” kind of lady. Her sense of humor, love of gardening, tea and spending time with her loved ones, are memories that will be cherished by those who loved and knew her forever.
There will be no visitation as per Nelly’s wishes, and cremation has taken place. A private funeral service will take place at St. John de Brebeuf Friday June 20th, 2025 at 12:00 P.M.
Interment at Green Hill Cemetery to follow. Loved ones are also invited to visit Nelly’s memorial tree at Kennedy Woods in Kingsville, which she picked out to be beside the memorial bench of her granddaughter Meghan.
Nelly made her wishes very clear in what she wanted to be the last line of her obituary to be.
She wanted all those who knew and loved her to open their hearts to God and simply: “Believe.”
If desired donations to Erie Shoes Health Care would be appreciated. Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.kendrickfuneralhome.com
