Announcements, Obituary

Marion Broy (October 9, 1942 – June 8, 2025)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marion Broy (née Minielly), 82, of Windsor, Ontario, who left us peacefully and surrounded by loved ones on June 8, 2025. A beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, Marion will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Marion was born on October 9, 1942, in Windsor, Ontario to Frank and Jean Minielly, the third of four siblings. She married Michael Broy in 1962 and together they had four children. She was the manager at Bert Weeks Jewellers for many years, including the time Mr. Weeks was mayor of Windsor. Her love of cooking led to a second career as a cook.

Marion was a woman of quiet strength and independent spirit. Her home was the heart and hub of the family, a consistent place of comfort through the years.

She took great joy in preparing meals for loved ones and spending time around the kitchen table, sharing stories, laughter, and often a game of dice or cards. She loved to read. Her side table always held a stack of mystery novels, the crossword, and an erasable pen.

Marion was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Jean Minielly, and her former husband, Michael Broy.

She is survived by her siblings, Frances Harper of Watford, Ontario, John (Judy) Minielly of Forest, Ontario and Gordon (Judy) Minielly of Forest, Ontario;
her children, Janice Furtak of Connecticut, USA, Kathie Hull of Windsor, Ontario, Michael (Nadine) of Leamington, Ontario, William of Kingsville, Ontario;
her 12 grandchildren, Stephannie and Danielle Furtak; Samantha and Natalie Hull; Daniel Pigeon-Broy, Greg, Coty, and Cassandra Broy; Taylor, Abigail, Zoe and Mickey Broy;
her 15 great grandchildren, Lorenzo and Desmond Furtak, Braelyn LaPierre; Derick, Kara, Ricky and Noah Pigeon; Hank and Lilly Sartor; Braydien, Aubrey, Charlie, and Daphne Broy; Emerson, Emileigh, and Evelyn Broy; and many nieces and nephews.
