24-Hour-a-Day Hotline Launches for Short-Term Rental Complaints

The Town of Kingsville has a new 24-hour-a-day Short-Term Rental Hotline to report nuisances at neighbouring short-term rental properties.

Short-Term Rentals include bed and breakfasts, hotels, motels, inns, and any structure, or part thereof, used for temporary lodging for a period of 28 consecutive days or less in exchange for payment. Short-Term Rentals do not include short-term accommodation where this is no payment.

Reportable incidences could include:

  • Unauthorized short-term rentals
  • Loud parties
  • General noise disturbances
  • Parking or trash issues, and
  • Advertising violations

“This system notifies Short-Term Rental property owners as soon as complaints are made, and requires a response within 60 minutes, which helps address neighbourhood concerns as they are happening,” said Angela Toole, Manager of Municipal Governance / Acting Clerk.

Neighbours can submit their concerns through the online portal or by calling a live agent at (549)-490-9128.
