It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ronald Anthony Chateauneuf, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, son, and friend. Ron passed away suddenly on May 23rd, 2025 at the age of 72 in Kingsville, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and devotion to his family.
Ron was the loving father of Brandy (Rob), Carly (Jason), and Evan. He was a proud and cherished grandfather to Logan, Mavrick, Kaylyn, Cole, Sophie, Bella, Sterling, and Oaklynn. His family was his greatest joy, and he took immense pride in watching them grow.
Born in Windsor to the late Alcide (1970) and Mildred Chateauneuf, Ron was a devoted brother to Marlain and John. He will also be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, neighbours, and lifelong friends.
Ron retired from Ford Motor Company in 2006 and was a proud member of the CAW local 200 union. He worked hard throughout his life and valued the sense of camaraderie and purpose that came with his career.
A true hockey enthusiast, Ron was a lifelong and passionate supporter of the Montreal Canadiens. Whether it was cheering on his team or debating stats with friends, hockey was always close to his heart.
Ron had a great passion for music and spent time travelling along side Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band.
Ron will also be remembered through the lake and on the beach as it was his favourite place to be with friends and family.
Ron will be welcomed in the next life with a cold Crystal beer in hand and a Canadiens game on the screen—a perfect tribute to the man who loved life, family, and hockey.
He will be forever loved, remembered, and missed.
Arrangements entrusted to Kendrick Funeral Home. A private service has occurred with immediate family to say their goodbyes.
We welcome all to join us for Ron’s celebration of life on Wednesday, May 28th, 2025 from 4pm-7pm at the Essex Legion (103 Talbot St N)
