David Hasson (August 7, 1955 – May 6, 2025)

David Harold Wilfred Hasson, age 69, passed suddenly on May 6, 2025 at his home in Corona Del Mar, California.

Born August 7, 1955 in the town of Kingsville, Ontario, Canada to Harold and Vera Hasson, David was the youngest of 5 siblings.  David graduated from Kingsville District High School, received a Bachelors of Commerce from the University of Windsor, and a Masters in Business Administration from Northwestern University.

David married Elizabeth Marie Schloemer on October 12, 1985.  Together they raised two sons, Ian and James. David was known for his love of family, charismatic personality, artistic talent, proud Canadian roots, and his relentless work ethic.  David enjoyed a successful career as an International Tax Executive, working for Touche Ross, Price Waterhouse, GE Medical Systems, Limited Brands, Bausch & Lomb, TE Connectivity, and Borg Warner.

David will be remembered as an avid hockey fan, who loved cheering on his Toronto Maple Leafs almost as much as he enjoyed cheering and coaching his two sons. In retirement, David spent his days creating intricate wood burnings, volunteering with his spouse, and hosting family dinners where good cuts of meat were paired with even better wines.

David is survived by his wife of 39 years, Elizabeth; children Ian (Lauren) and James; grandchildren Charlotte and Jeremy; brother Daniel (Jean) Hasson; sisters Gloria (Henry) Oostenbrug and Barbara (John) LaPointe.  He was preceded in death by older brother Bruce (Joyce) Hasson.

In accordance with the family’s wishes, private services will be held at a later date. Donations in lieu of gifts or flowers may be made in David’s name to Leader Dogs for the Blind at Leaderdog.org

To Gloria and Barb, two of the best babysitters of 4 little girls ever!
So sorry to hear of David’s passing. My condolences to all the Hasson family.
I remember him as a classmate of my sister Tanya, but also knew him because he was friendly, always polite, with a nice smile. I know that his family was so proud of his accomplishments, and rightfully so. Small town Kingsville kid made good in the big world, with only his brains and hard work. A true success story.
Your Mom and Dad were good friends of my parents too, so the Hasson family features prominently in my memories of growing up. Thanks for your friendship throughout the years.

  5. Gloria and family, so sorry for your loss. My deepest sympathy to all of you.

    • Deepest sympathies to the whole family, near & far from home town Kingsville. I went to high school with David … always a nice guy & the quiet one in a bunch of noisy ones! My parents Hike & Ruth (both passed too) knew Harold & Vera well – my sister & brother went to school with Danny, Gloria & Barb too I believe. R.I.P. Dave … So sorry for your loss.

  6. SORRY TO HERE ABOUT DAVIDS PASSING.
FROM ALL OF THE HASSONS .
He would have been a cousin.
