Windsor, Ont. is welcoming a nearly $300-million investment by Minth Group, a Canadian owned global leader in the manufacturing of exterior and structural automotive parts.

Together with representatives from the Province of Ontario and the City of Windsor, Minth Group announced the construction of a 379,415 sq. ft. manufacturing plant, representing phase one of a multi-building manufacturing campus located at 5000 Cabana Road East in Windsor, Ont. on approximately 54 acres of surplus land at the Windsor International Airport.

This new facility marks a major investment in the region, and is expected to create 1,099 direct jobs, supporting the company’s growing demand for aluminum, steel, and plastic components for electric and hybrid vehicle battery trays, structures, and exterior trim.

As part of this investment, the government of Ontario is providing a loan of up to $40 million through the Invest Ontario Fund.

The City of Windsor is also supporting this local investment through the City’s Community Improvement Plan. This program is designed to attract and retain businesses that align with the City’s long-term economic goals.

The Windsor-based operation is set to play a key role in expanding Minth’s presence in North America and contributing to the region’s rapidly growing next-generation vehicle supply chain.
