The Kingsville Horticultural Society (KHS) was treated to a colourful slide show from Maria Pap. Maria is the daughter of Stephen Pap, the founder of Flora Gardens.
She came to our last meeting to introduce us to her “old friends” and new plants for this year.
Maria cultivates her plants from personal cuttings as well as seeds and plugs that she buys from Wholesalers.
Flora Gardens grows 95% of the plants they sell in their on-site greenhouse. This lady knows her stuff!
Although Maria is a very busy lady, she allows people to drop in whenever she is there.
Those who want the best choice can wander through the greenhouse in April, make a wish-list and await their order.
Don’t try this after May 1 because they are simply too busy attending to the rest of us who wish to fill our gardens with her plants!
Don’t forget to look at the interesting and unusual succulents, herbs, veggies, annuals and perennials!
You will find plants at Flora Gardens that you will not find elsewhere.
I know that many members of the KHS are planning a visit to Maria so we can have something special in our yards this year.
