First Week of February Programs and Activities at Kingsville Library

SPECIAL EVENT 

Teen Art Contest
January 6th and runs till March 8th 2025
Open to ages 13-19 years old

Winners will be displayed in the Library Teen Corner for the year. Prizes to be won!!

To Enter: Please send a digital copy (picture) of your piece to kinbranch@essexcountylibrary.ca with the subject: Teen Art Contest Entry 2025.

Please also include the dimensions and the medium used, your name, and contact information. Must be a resident of Essex County at time of entry.

All art pieces must be original and able to hang on the wall!

NEW PROGRAMS 

Teen Advisory Group at the Kingsville Branch
Thursday February 13th
at 6:30 p.m.

Want to earn community hours for school? Like to read? Enjoy collaborating in a group setting? Enjoy snacks??? The Kingsville Branch Library is looking for Teens 13-19 who are interested in joining our new Teen Advisory Group (TAG)! We will meet once a month.

Purpose: 

  1. Feedback and Input: Teens offer ideas and suggestions for library programs, books, movies, events, and resources that appeal to their age group
  1. Advocacy: TAG members can help advocate for library services, promoting the library as a resource to other teens in the community
  1. Community Involvement: By engaging with the library, teens become more involved in their community and develop leadership and communication skills

Book Club for Kids: Greek Mythology
February 6th
from4:30-5:30 p.m.
Ages 7 – 12 yrs

Come in and share what you’ve learned from your Greek mythology book! Pick any one of our many books on Greek mythology, and read it before the club. Then come in and share your knowledge about what you’ve learned! You’ll also get to design your own paper Greek amphora!

DROP-IN ACTIVITY FOR FAMILIES

Family Craft Program: Personalized Keychains
Wednesday February 5th from 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Ages 4+ with a caregiver 

Come together as a family and craft away the winter blues! We are making personalized friendship beaded key chains!

You choose what you want it to say, and help each other create a one of a kind (and perhaps glow in the dark??) keychain. 

COMMUNITY PARTNER PROGRAMS FOR ADULTS

Kingsville Crafting Hive
Wednesday February 5th and 19th
from 5:30– 7:30 pm

Crafting knows no boundaries, limits, or inhibitions …

“Kingsville’s Hive” is a space for everyone to share various crafting techniques.

(1st & 3rd Wednesday of the month)
