Leamington Announces Winners Of 2024 Mayor’s Holiday Card Contest

The Municipality of Leamington is delighted to reveal the winners of the 2024 Mayor’s Holiday Card Design Contest.

This year, the Municipality partnered with local schools to invite Grade 4 and 5 students to submit their creative drawings for a chance to be featured on the cover of the Mayor’s Holiday Greeting Card. An incredible 236 entries were received from talented young artists in the community.

Selecting a single winner proved to be an impossible task because each submission captured the holiday spirit and showcased the creativity of the students. As a result, four exceptional designs were chosen to highlight this year’s holiday card:

  • Owen – St. Louis Catholic Elementary School
  • Summer – École élémentaire catholique Saint-Michel
  • Hilary – Mount Carmel – Blytheswood Public School
  • Meral – Queen Elizabeth Public School

Mayor Hilda MacDonald shared her thoughts on the contest: “This contest is a highlight of the holiday season for me. The talent and creativity displayed by the Grade 4 and 5 students is truly inspiring.

Each design tells its own unique story about the holidays, and it was impossible to choose just one. I’m so proud of all the students who participated and grateful for the opportunity to showcase the wonderful spirit of our community through their art. Congratulations to Owen, Summer, Hilary and Meral and thank you to every student who contributed their time and talent!”

The Municipality thanks all the schools, teachers, and students who made this contest a success.

The winning artwork will be featured on the Municipality’s official 2024 Mayor’s Holiday Greeting Card, which will be shared with community members, dignitaries, and friends of Leamington.
