Halloween is just behind us. Remembrance Day is approaching. After that, the Holiday Season comes charging in. The weather may not be a real indicator of the time of year but we all know what’s going to happen. The Time Change has brought shorter daylight hours in with a bang. And colder temperatures will eventually settle down for a long stay.

People seem to be watching Christmas movies all year round, evidence that people enjoy the sentimental glow and can’t get enough of it. But you know, there’s another side to the Holiday Season and all that comes with it.

Parties and gifts? They are barrels of fun, but for people who are struggling to make payments and buy groceries, the fun ends pretty quickly. Worries about how to pay for presents and seasonal foods just pile more layers on top of the worries already there about keeping everyone fed and keeping the heat on.

The Kingsville Community Food Bank is always ready to ease the fears and fill the cupboards. We appreciate the Food Bank volunteers, and our community members as they continue to help meet needs.

Here’s a list of items that the Food Bank is looking for in November:

They also welcome gift cards for groceries, products for babies, pet supplies including dog and cat food, laundry and dish detergents, toilet paper, paper towels, and more. Cardboard boxes and cloth bags are always welcome. If you can help, the Food Bank thanks you for your generosity.

The Food Bank is located at 18 Division Street North in Kingsville across the street from RBC Bank. You can also use their drop-off bin inside Zehrs, shown in the picture below.
