Migration Fest To Receive $25K From St. Clair Alumni

The Jack Miner Migratory Bird Foundation is pleased to announce St. Clair College Alumni Association’s 5-year event sponsorship of Jack Miner’s Migration Festival totalling $25,000.

This new funding support will enhance the Sanctuary’s ability to deliver one of Windsor-Essex’s most beloved free family-friendly annual festivals, Migration Festival, which serves as a celebration of migration, heritage, nature conservation, and famous pioneer naturalist, Jack Miner.

This year’s 2024 festival events, taking place on Saturday, October 19, 2024, and Sunday, October 20, 2024, at the Jack Miner Migratory Bird Sanctuary in Kingsville, ON (332/360 Road 3 W, Kingsville) include:

  • Tours of Historic Buildings;
  • Nature-Themed Crafts, Activities, and Scavenger Hunts;
  • Retriever Demos put on by the Essex Hunting Retriever Club;
  • Artist Vendors Market (15+ vendors) hosted by Arts Society of Kingsville (ASK);
  • Birds of Prey shows delivered by The Canadian Raptor Conservancy featuring eagles, owls, and hawks;
  • 15+ Weekend Food, Goods, and Crafts Vendors;
  • Straw Maze;
  • Trout Pond;
  • Food Trucks, 5+ Local Breweries, Live Music (Sat, 12PM -10PM);
  • Annual Pancake Breakfast (Sun);
  • Annual Car Show (Sun);
  • Other Off-Site Events and Activities Hosted by the Town of Kingsville.

We’re honoured to partner with the St. Clair College Alumni Association on Migration Festival, an event that attracts WindsorEssex families and countless others who live beyond the boundaries of our county,” says Matthew Olewski, Executive Director of the foundation.

“Their sponsorship of this event demonstrates support for rural communities, in particular one whose identity is entwined with the legacy of Jack Miner.”

Discover historical exhibits in the Jack Miner Museum and homestead, walk 5 kms of trails in Kennedy Woods, explore interactive children’s activities in the Jack Miner Learning Centre, and soak in the rich history of the Sanctuary by walking our new self-guided tour!

The Jack Miner Migratory Bird Foundation invites everyone to come out and enjoy a weekend of fall season family fun! All donations go to the Foundation, a local registered non-profit, to pursue its mandate: A dedication to the conservation legacy of Jack Miner offering a sanctuary for migratory birds in a natural, educational, heritage environment for the benefit and enjoyment of current and future generations.
