The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation will be observed on Monday, September 30th.
For a week, the Greater Essex County District School Board will fly the Every Child Matters flag at all its schools and administrative buildings.
This federal holiday is intended to recognize the legacy of the residential school system in Canada. Along with the symbolic gesture, learning resources have been developed for teachers to use in their classes so that students can have a practical understanding and appreciation for the meaning, purpose and importance of reconciliation.
A flag-raising ceremony will be held at the GECDSB board office (451 Park St. W., Windsor) on Monday, September 23rd at 10:00 a.m.
