Recall Notice Issued For DeWALT Battery Electric Walk Behind Lawn Mowers

Health Canada has issued a recall  for four models of DeWALT Battery Electric Walk Behind Lawn Mowers. There are two self- propelled models and two push models, which are differentiated by the battery voltage.

It has been discovered that if water gets into the mower’s handle support while the battery is installed, the mower can fail to shut off when the bail handle is released or start without a key, posing a laceration hazard to the user.

As of August 8, 2024, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada. In the United States, the company has received 11 reports of incidents, one of which involved a minor laceration injury.

The four models are:

  • DeWALT 2X 20V Max 21” Self-Propelled (yellow deck, yellow handle panels) – Model# DCMWP234U2-CA
  • DeWALT 60V Max 21” Self-Propelled (black deck, yellow handle panels) – Model# DCMWP600X2-CA

  • DeWALT 60V Max 21” Push (black deck, black handle panels) – Model DCMWSP650Y2-CA

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled products and bring the products to an authorized service center where the mowers will be repaired. Consumers can locate an authorized service center by calling DeWALT or by visiting their website.
