Leamington Council Matters – August 27, 2024

At the Leamington Council meeting of Tuesday, August 27, 2024, Council:

  • Deferred an application to redesignate 806 and 810 Mersea Road 4 from Highway 77 Commercial Corridor to Agricultural, and to rezone 806 Mersea Road 4 to an Agricultural General Zone and 810 Mersea Road 4 to an Agricultural General Zone to permit an off-site farm worker dwelling, to be considered at the October 22, 2024, Council Meeting.
  • Approved an application to create a surplus dwelling lot located at 2219 County Road 14 and rezoned the severed lot from an Agricultural General Zone to an Agricultural Residential Zone and rezoned the retained parcel to a site-specific Agricultural General Zone.
  • Approved an application to redesignate 84 Oak Street West from Industrial to Residential and rezoned the property from an Industrial Light Zone to a Residential Zone with site-specific zone provisions to permit residential development.
  • Approved Terms of Reference for the Appeal Committee, Asset Management Steering Committee, Committee of Adjustment, Leamington Accessibility Advisory Committee, Mayor’s Recognition Awards Committee, Municipal Grants Review Committee, Property Standards Committee, Seniors Advisory Committee, and amended respective by-laws for that purpose.
  • Awarded a tender for the Robson Road Reconstruction and Marina Parking Lot Phase 1 Construction project to Major Construction in the amount of $3,426,204 (plus applicable taxes), funded the watermain replacement from the Water-Line Renewals Reserve, and funded the budget variance of $756,373 through the Canada Community-Building Fund.
