Doug Rhea

Douglas William Rhea, 64, of Kingsville, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on July 7th, 2024, after a short battle with cancer.

Doug was born on July 23rd, 1959, to Doug and Betty Rhea (2017) in Kingsville. Doug grew up in Kingsville with his brother Dave (Carol) and sister Donna and remained a local.

On April 25th, 1987, Doug married the love of his life Sarah. Throughout their 37 years of marriage, they had many adventures together. Doug and Sarah had two boys Brandon (Britney) and Tristan (Jennifer). Doug is also survived by another son Dougie (Tom).

Doug recently retired from Zehrs after 48 years. Doug spent his time tinkering in the garage, playing a round of golf with his boys, or attempting to beat Dennis in a game of darts.

Doug also was a small business owner of Sparkle Car Care. He will be remembered for his passion for cars and his eye for detail. Every time a car was picked up it shined as if it was brand new!

You often would see Doug around town driving a few things he was very passionate about: his Harley and 65’ Valiant. In his drives they included a pit stop for a coffee or a beer or two.

He will be greatly missed by many that he has touched over the years. Whether it was a chat while he was working at Zehrs, coffee at Tim Hortons, or on the 19th hole at the golf course.

Doug will also be missed by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 188 (145 Division Rd, South Kingsville) on July 20th, 2024, from 2 to 6 PM. Arrangements entrusted to Kendrick Funeral Home, Kingsville.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to HOGS for HOSPICE. This charity was something Doug was very passionate about and supported annually. Any donation is greatly appreciated. Alternatively, donations can be made directly to Erie Shores Hospice – Leamington.

The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Windsor MET Hospital and Erie Shores Hospice in Leamington, especially Rachel, for their exceptional care of Doug, Sarah, and the family.
