At the Leamington Council meeting of Tuesday, June 25, 2024, Council:
- Approved an application to create a surplus dwelling and merge abutting greenhouse farms; established a permanent easement for access for the greenhouse property; added land to the abutting residential parcel and established a permanent easement for those lands.
- Approved new policies regarding the Establishment and Dissolution of Agencies, Boards and Committees and Appointing Members of Council to External Agencies, Boards, and Committees and authorized amendments to the Council Committee Policy and the Council, Local Board and Committee Remuneration and Compensation Policy.
- Implemented additional criteria that a Special Event must meet to receive a Special Event Permit and introduced a Special Events application fee of $100.
- Amended the Business Licensing By-law to include changes to the number of business categories to be licensed and the application and renewal fees required for a business licence.
- Deemed a part of a plan of subdivision not to be a registered plan of subdivision for Southwind Estates Phase 3, M.Z.M. Development & Resources Inc.
- Removed 187 Talbot Street East as a property from the Municipal Register of Heritage Properties for the purpose of demolition.
- Approved the leasing of lands located at 425 Bevel Line Road to Shared Tower Inc. for the purpose of constructing a telecommunications tower and authorized the Director of Infrastructure Services to execute the lease agreement.
