Sunday was a big day for the Kingsville Tennis Association when one of its members, Dino Petricola, took to the courts to celebrate his 85th birthday with a rousing tennis match. Among the friends who helped Dino mark this important occasion was KTA Executive Member, David Nickerson, who celebrated his 85th birthday earlier this spring.

Did you know that playing tennis is the key to a longer life?  In addition to maintaining health, fitness, strength and agility, a recent Copenhagen City Heart Study (CCHS) which was published in Mayo Clinic Proceedings, showed that playing tennis could extend a person’s life by 9.7 years.  The study also showed a clear correlation between social interaction and longevity.

Dino and David are definitely living proof along with Harry Roettele who established the Kingsville Tennis Association in 1968.   They are among the young members of KTA who are aged 80+.
