The Board of Trustees of the Greater Essex County District School Board has approved a budget of $588,553,631 for the upcoming school year.

This includes an operating budget of $532,022,414 and a capital budget of $56,531,217. The operating budget reflects a deficit of $6,379,834.

Budget highlights include:

• Maintaining existing programs in Special Education;
• Continuing investments in the Board’s strategic priority related to justice, inclusion, equity and diversity;
• Maintaining support for student mental health and well-being;
• Maintaining investments in Math and Literacy support.
