Leamington Council Matters – May 14, 2024

At the Leamington Council meeting of Tuesday, May 14, 2024, Council:

  • Approved an application to rezone 494 Talbot Road East to permit up to two additional second dwelling units, accessory to the permitted main dwelling.
  • Granted an easement to Enbridge Gas Inc. upon a segment of the Trans Canada Trail owned by the Municipality located south of Mersea Road 7.
  • Awarded a contract for the Leamington Watermain Replacement to Major Construction (2010) Ltd., , in the amount of $2,866,787 excluding HST and funded the remaining projected capital deficit of $517,742 from the Water Line Renewal Reserves.
  • Awarded a contract for the Leamington Pollution Control Centre Lower Screw Pump Upgrade project to Kingdom Construction Limited, in the amount of $2,474,832 excluding HST; approved additional engineering fees for Dillon Consulting Limited in the amount of $12,300; and funded the projected capital deficit of $222,549 from the PCC Reserves.
  • Directed Administration to bring forward a new business licensing by-law requiring a limited number of businesses to be licensed in the Municipality.
  • Amended the HR-2021-01 Salaried Pay Policy to remove a paragraph regarding the supervisory responsibilities of a qualified Building Inspector from the Policy as it is no longer required.
  • Changed the name of Creekview Drive east of Heathview Trail to Nato Avenue and changed the name of Creekview Drive west of Heathview Trail to Gretta Avenue.
