The Town of Kingsville reminds all Boarding, Lodging, and Rooming House (BLRH) owners to register for a BLRH licence before the May 15, 2024 deadline.
The BLRH licence is a new requirement for all BLRH owners and operators within the Town. See By-law 03-2024. Each BLRH must obtain and maintain a BLRH licence, valid for one year and costing $100 per structure.
If you are a BLRH owner and have not received an email from the Town Clerk regarding the BLRH licence program and the deadline, contact us at licensing@kingsville.ca to be added to our contact list.
Learn more about the BLRH licensing process, including the application process, what to expect after applying, and the timeline for licensing. Visit the Business Related Applications page and expand the Boarding Lodging Rooming Houses accordion.
A BLRH is a dwelling unit where bedrooms are rented or provided to occupants rather than the entire unit. Occupants of a BLRH may be unrelated and share bathrooms and kitchen facilities. BLRHs are rented or provided to occupants long-term for twenty-eight (28) days or more. For clarity, a BLRH includes housing controlled and provided by an employer of the residents living in the unit.
