COUNTY CLASSIC CHORALE TO CELEBRATE COMPOSERS LEONARD BERNSTEIN AND ONTARIO’S OWN SARAH QUARTEL ON MAY 4TH AND 5TH
Leamington-based County Classic Chorale (the Chorale) is proudly experiencing its 41st year of anchoring choral music for Leamington, Kingsville, and other communities in Windsor Essex.
Under the direction of new Artistic Director Adam Adler, the Chorale will be performing “All These Angels,” provocative and engaging works from renowned composer Leonard Bernstein and Canada’s own Sarah Quartel at its concerts on May 4 (7pm) and May 5 (3pm) at Faith Mennonite Church, 269 Sherk St., Leamington. Free will offering for admission.
Bernstein, whose life was recently featured in the movie Maestro (theatre release November 2023 and now on Netflix), is popularly known for his score for West Side Story which continues to wow audiences across the world. Quartel, Oxford University Press’ “rising star,” is recognized for her energetic, fresh approach to choral music which attracts singers of all ages.
County Classic Choral is known for its performance excellence. It is dedicated to promoting the highest standards of choral singing while seeking to bring music to communities across southwest Ontario . Future growth plans include founding a youth choir, providing student and adult scholarships and increasing artistic collaboration with other arts organizations throughout the county.
