After careful consideration of multiple options to safely resume the replacement of the Tom Wright Drain Culvert on County Road 50, the project team has identified a preferred solution it is preparing to implement with the support of Hydro One.
With the information we have at this point in time, we are hopeful construction can safely resume in three weeks.
Excavation on the site has already begun so the road must remain closed until the project is completed. The culvert was affected by the storms that battered the region last summer and needs to be replaced.
The County is installing additional signage to direct traffic in the area and would like to remind the public that all businesses remain open and accessible.
We thank businesses and residents for their patience as we work to complete this vital infrastructure project and will continue to provide information updates.
County Road 50 remains closed between County Road 13 (Erie Road) and Klies Beach Road. All businesses remain open during construction. The map below shows the posted detour, which makes use of County Roads 13, 20 and 23.
