The Town of Kingsville is excited to share that its Migration Festival was recognized as a 2024 Top 100 Award Winner by Festivals and Events Ontario (FEO). This is a fantastic achievement for the festival, which has won for the second year in a row.
“It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the Migration Festival Committee, Council, volunteers, and staff who put in the work to make this event a huge success in our community every year,” said Kingsville Mayor Dennis Rogers.
The Great Migration Paint Out was highlighted in this accomplishment. This event draws artists from all over Canada and the United States and is organized by Layne and Elaine van Loo and other volunteers within the Migration Festival Committee.

“The Festival transforms our entire town into a hub of activities and inspiration for en plein air artists,” said Kingsville’s Manager of Special Events and Programming, Karen Loney. “Our kick-off event also welcomed over 150 people, and families lined the downtown streets to watch the parade.”
The Migration Festival is a community favourite, with family activities at Lakeside Park and Jack Miner Migratory Bird Sanctuary, bike tours, and great shopping opportunities at local businesses.

Just a suggestion.. Could you have a consignment art show of paintings of the outdoors that families want to sell.? The Migration committee could keep 10% from the sales. Many people are inheriting wonderful paintings of Ontario scenery. This heritage captured on canvas should not end up at Value Village.
The committee makes money, families pass original art onto new owners and Ontario’s heritage is preserved.
