Leamington Council Matters – February 27, 2024

At the Leamington Council meeting of Tuesday, February 27, 2024, Council:

  • Approved a Zoning Amendment Application for 34 Askew Street, Leamington, to permit a multi-unit building containing five-units; established revised zoning provisions; and reduced barrier-free parking requirements from one space to zero spaces.
  • Deferred consideration of a Zoning Amendment application for 33 Hodgins Street, Leamington, to permit a multi-unit development and established site-specific zoning to the March 19, 2024, Council Meeting.
  • Adopted the Fire Master Plan for use as the guiding principles for future decision making.
  • Awarded a tender for the three-year sewer main flushing and CCTV inspection contract to Hurricane SMS Inc., in the amount of $314,317 plus HST.
  • Directed administration to retain the services of Dillion Consulting in the amount of $132,325 plus HST to complete the final design of the Seacliff West trunk sanitary sewer extension, Street East and roundabout, and the services of WSP Canada to an upset limit of $150,000 to provide all geotechnical services for the project.
  • Authorized the purchase of a four-wheel drive backhoe from Delta Power Equipment, in the amount of $160,000 excluding HST.
  • Awarded a tender for the 2024 Asphalt Program (Tar and Chip) project to Shepley Road Maintenance, in the amount of $760,425.30 plus applicable taxes.
  • Deemed a part of a plan of subdivision not to be a registered plan of subdivision for parcels of land located on 108 Erie Street North, 4 Ivan Street, 13 Foundry Street, and 9 Foundry Street.
  • Received a Treasurer’s Statement report regarding the 2023 remuneration and expenses paid to members of Council, Boards and Committees.
