Town Announces Winning Snow Plow Names Following Contest Poll

The Town of Kingsville recently held a community contest to name two of our snow plows. After receiving 45 entries, narrowing it down to the top seven, and having a poll that received over 41,000 votes, our winning snow plow names are:

– Austin Plowers
and;
– Darth Blader

Congratulations to the Fortuna family and Dan Greenham for submitting the winning entries. They will receive a Kingsville prize pack.

But perhaps even more exciting than the prize is the bragging rights of naming two of our hard-working plows!

Austin Plowers and Darth Blader join plow names submitted by elementary schools that held their own naming contests.

– Harry Plower (named by Jack Miner Public School students)

– Snow Sleigher (named by Kingsville Public School)

and;

– Cougar Strong (named by Gosfield North Public School)

“We’ve had a lot of heavy decisions to make this year,” said Kingsville Mayor Dennis Rogers.

“We conducted a comprehensive facilities review, passed our 2024 budget, and adopted our long-term Strategic Plan, Kingsville 2040. This contest was a bit of fun among those more serious discussions. It was nice to see how the community embraced it, and we thank everyone who submitted names or took the time to vote. ”
