Skate Lakeshore Competes In Oakville

The Skate Lakeshore Silver Stars Synchro team competes in Oakville, Ontario

The Skate Lakeshore Silver Stars Synchro team travelled to Oakville this past weekend to compete against synchronized skating teams from across the province, earning a respectable tie for fifth place in their flight.

The skaters range in age from 11 – 17 and have ice time one hour a week to practice their choreography, which includes a number of defined elements upon which they were judged. Head coach Jennifer Woodrich was pleased by the team’s performance.

“What a great experience and day,” she said following completion of their routine. “I am so proud of the skaters and the way they carried themselves both on and off the ice. They represented Skate Lakeshore with pride and heart, and are tremendous ambassadors for the Municipality of Lakeshore!”

It was the team’s first competition and for many of the skaters, the first time performing in front of a panel of judges. The team will perform at the Atlas Tube Centre on Family Day at 11am, along with the Silver Stars’ Red and Silver Teams, comprised of younger skaters honing their skills.

On March 3, the Skate Lakeshore Silver Stars Synchro team will perform at the first intermission of the Windsor Spitfires game.
