At the Leamington Council meeting of Tuesday, January 30, 2024, Council:
- Approved a Zoning By-law Amendment (ZBA) application to rezone 17 Robson Road to permit a mixed-use building on the property, reducing setbacks and parking requirements.
- Approved a ZBA application to rezone vacant lands east of 5 Coronation Avenue, to permit a 12-unit, 2.5 story apartment building, reducing required frontage and landscaped spaces, setbacks, and required parking.
- Authorized administration to undertake public engagement to review a draft Parkland Dedication By-law with the assistance of Watson & Associates Economists Ltd.
- Approved rehabilitation plans for the Big Tomato.
- Authorized administration to execute a change of scope in the Leamington Official Plan and ZBA review to include initiatives to achieve strong government to government partnerships with the Caldwell First Nation.
- Directed administration to report back to Council with a revised list of business categories that are required to be licensed under the Business Licensing By-law.
- Increased the value of the spay and neuter voucher to $150 per voucher.
- Approved the use of municipally owned lands located at Seacliff Beach and Park, the Waterfront Promenade, Forest Avenue, Erie South parking lot, and the leased section of the Dock for the Wings Over Water Leamington Air Show tentatively scheduled on September 27, 2024 to September 29, 2024.
- Awarded a contract for the Leamington Pollution Control Centre biosolids exhaust fan variable frequency drive upgrades to Selectra Inc. in the amount of $126,360 excluding HST.
- Waived the Public Works fencing fees for the Polar Bear Dip for United Way providing funding through the General and Administration Reserve.
