Have you heard about the “WE” Photo Art Exhibit & Auction? The exhibit is taking place at the Carnegie Arts & Visitor Centre until February 23, 2024 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
The live auction will be held at the Grovedale Arts & Cultural Centre on February 23. A reception will begin at 6 p.m. The auction will follow at 6:30 p.m.
Admission to all of this is free.

In these times we are all trying to look for value as the cost of life is increasing at a staggering rate. So why should you consider this charity event amongst the plethora (that means a lot) of other money demanding things?
Well, you know what else would mean a lot? The support of this event.

Maybe one of your family, friends or work colleagues has donated some of their artwork or they are connected to the charities being supported.
Let’s start with the artists. Each one of the photos donated has been done so by local photographers of all levels of ability.

You might see their photos shared on a regular basis. You might hit one of the reaction buttons on social media and if you really like one of the photos, you might even make a positive comment or share the image.
That’s all great in the virtual world but now these kind folk have gone an extra step, printed and prepared some images to hang in an art gallery.

This is a big step for many of them and your support of them is important to, firstly them and secondly to the success of the fund raising.
If you have time, go to the Carnegie Arts and Visitor Centre in Kingsville and check out all the photos on display and then send an encouraging word to the artist you are connected to.

More importantly though, please try to come to the auction on February 23rd at the Grovedale Arts and Cultural Centre, Kingsville.
Take part in the auction of these pieces of artwork and make your associated artist feel a real sense of pride in what they have produced.

Trust me when I say it is a very lonely feeling when your work is up for auction and no one is bidding.
If you are unable to attend the event we are organising pre-bidding. You can contact with details of the photo/s you want to bid on and we will have someone bid on your behalf.

That leads me on to the second and most high value to this event. All of the money raised is going to two charities to support our local Essex region community.
The charities supported this year are the Kingsville Community Centre and St. Andrew’s LaSalle Community Food Bank. Charitable receipts available.

Every dollar you will be bidding with is not for a piece of artwork but for vital funds helping the less fortunate.
So even if you don’t particularly want a new piece of wall art, keep in mind you are bidding on art that has been donated to support charity.

If you value your family member, your friend, your work colleague or if you put value in supporting local charities or if you value both, I would strongly recommend the support of this event to you and ask you come ready to bid/donate.
Everyone is welcome even if you don’t want to bid. There will be a donation box available for those who just want to donate some cash.

It’s only with your support and you putting value into this event will it succeed. It will mean a lot to the photographers and it will mean a lot to the charities.
I thank you for reading this.
