Council Brief from December 11, 2023 Kingsville Town Council Meeting

At its December 11, 2023 meeting, Council:

  • Approved the Strategic Plan: “A 2040 Vision for Council”
  • Approved the Zoning By-law Amendment application for 165 County Road 34 West
  • Directed Administration to renew the Town’s insurance program for one year
  • Directed Administration to:
    • Prepare a By-law establishing a compliance and inspection program for private greenhouse wastewater systems connected to public infrastructure, inclusive of an appropriate fee schedule and fines for non-compliance; and,
    • Prepare a By-law, or amendments to existing By-laws, for regulating the use of public and private sewer systems, inclusive of an appropriate fee schedule and fines for non-compliance
  • Directed Administration to gather anonymous input from residents in close proximity to the Williams Light Show, inclusive of an opportunity for those residents to make recommendations and suggestions regarding the same
  • Approved:
    • the extension of the contract between the Town of Kingsville, Municipality of Leamington and Essex County K9 Services for the provision of Animal Control Services beginning January 1, 2024; and,
    • the Town of Kingsville’s approximate portion of the Animal Control Services contract extension of $38,000 plus HST per year for a 3-year term and a cost of $70.00 plus HST for each wildlife removal call
  • Directed Administration to obtain public input pertaining to short-term rentals through an online survey, with paper copies available at Town Hall
