The Town of Kingsville is upgrading all water meters within the community. This upgrade is necessary as many of the current meters have exceeded their lifespan and the Automated Meter Reading (AMR) technology has become obsolete.
Neptune Technology Group has been contracted to perform the upgrade and you will soon receive an introductory letter from them on behalf of the municipality.
This is a mandatory program, as per Council Resolution 140-05082023, and requires the participation of all account holders. Those who fail to comply 50 days after receiving their initial contact letter with booking instructions will be subject to a water shut-off. It is important that everyone cooperates to ensure a smooth rollout of this project.
Upgrading to the AMI provides many benefits, including improved operational efficiency, enhanced distribution system performance, and better customer service. This technology allows for hourly readings, which enables quicker notification of atypical water consumption and improved water conservation. There are also societal and environmental benefits, such as reduced carbon emissions.
If you are required to make an appointment for meter installation, you will receive an additional letter from Neptune with a reference number and link to book your appointment. Please make sure to follow the instructions to book your appointment within one week of receiving your notice.
The meter and installation are free of charge, but the work will take 30-60 minutes to complete, during which time the water service will be briefly shut off.
For those who are not required to make an appointment, please ensure that you provide access to your property. You may see a Neptune technician walking around your property, but rest assured that all authorized technicians will be uniformed and carry identification.
