On Wednesday, November 1, 2023, Kingsville’s Communities in Bloom Committee holds its annual Pumpkin Parade at Lakeside Park, 315 Queen Street. This community event allows residents to recycle their pumpkins since they are donated to an organic farm as compost or animal feed following the parade.
“This is a purposeful event,” said Carol Dunn, Chair of the Communities in Bloom Committee. “It helps recycle hundreds of pumpkins but also brings smiles to kids and adults as they walk the pumpkin trail and see the creatively carved jack-o-lanterns.”
Residents can drop their pumpkins off at the Herrington Street parking lot from 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm on November 1, 2023. Then, walk the lighted pumpkin trail from 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm in Lakeside Park’s lower bowl.
“Pumpkins with stickers, paint or toothpicks can not be accepted, as those materials are unsafe for animals to eat,” said Kingsville’s Manager of Recreation Programs and Special Events, Karen Loney.
