4th Annual ‘Jazz On Drouillard’ Festival Announces List Of Performers

The Fourth Annual Jazz on Drouillard music festival, hosted by the popular Ford City shop and bar, Pressure Drop, is thrilled to unveil the lineup for its highly anticipated 2023 edition.

The event will take place on September 30, 2023 from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m.

This year’s festival promises a wonderful celebration of jazz music, bringing together musicians from Windsor and Detroit.

In addition to performances on the Pressure Drop patio, attendees will also be able to enjoy live music at two other Ford City locations, the cafe Chance Coffee, and boutique and vintage shop Bunch.

All the locations are located in the 1000 block of Drouillard Road.

The 2023 Jazz on Drouillard lineup is headlined by Jon Dixon, Detroit-based musician and producer, who is instrumental in the city’s innovations in jazz and electronic music.

He had his start performing with the Detroit Symphony Civic Jazz Orchestra under the direction of Detroit’s own Godfather of Jazz, the late Marcus Belgrave.

Vocalist Shahida Nurullah and pianist Mike Karloff will also share the stage.

Nurullah has performed at the Montreux Detroit Jazz Festival, and has made numerous appearances at southeast Michigan jazz clubs including Aretha’s Jazz Café, Cliff Bell’s, and the Dirty Dog Jazz Cafe.

Karloff is one of Windsor’s major musical artists–he frequently performs with The Windsor Symphony Orchestra, Windsor Light Music Theatre, 4th Wall Music and Jazz at Mackenzie Hall.

Windsor-based trumpeter, Russ Macklem, joins the lineup following the release of his album “The South Detroit Connection,” which was recorded live at popular bar and venue, Phog Lounge. Festival goers will also see performances from the Austin DiPietro Borderland Trio, the Olivia Van Goor duo, Organization, Ryan Fontaine, Andy Tattersall, and more!

Tickets cost $15 each and can be ordered online at https://www.shoppressuredrop.com and picked up at Pressure Drop on or before the day of the event. Ticket proceeds go towards the costs of the musicians.

Programming takes place at Pressure Drop (1055 Drouillard Rd), Chance Coffee (1012 Drouillard Rd), and Bunch (1018 Drouillard Rd).
