Update on Kingsville Storm Cleanup

The Town of Kingsville is pleased to report that all health and safety concerns related to the recent storm have been addressed. Our staff has worked hard to clear branches from municipal right-of-ways and roads, and a final sweep is currently underway.

Thank you to all the residents who have been clearing their properties and helping their neighbours to expedite clean-up and keep our community safe and beautiful.

We have received reports of a small number of residents pushing debris into public spaces, including roads. This poses a risk to both drivers and pedestrians. Please do NOT do this.

The Town of Kingsville conducted a thorough assessment of the damage following the storm and debris that naturally fell on town property has been cleared. If you believe we have missed something, please email us at requests@kingsville.ca. A reminder that town staff will not be coming door-to-door to chip branches originating from private property.

We hope that those affected by the storm were able to take advantage of the additional yard waste collection date on Tuesday. The next collection is scheduled for August 15th. Remember, you can still drop debris off at the Kingsville Transfer Station located at 2021 Albuna Townline (County Road 31). Size restrictions apply.

  • Under 18 inches in diameter and less than 48 inches long, you can drop them off for free
  • Over 18 inches in diameter and less than 36 inches long, they will be charged as garbage

Essex Windsor Solid Waste Authority has graciously offered a “two week grace period” for those who are using DOUBLE AXLE trailers to drop off yard waste branches from the storm. During this period, you will NOT have to pay the commercial rate or cross the scale.

The grace period extends to Saturday, August 12th, or until otherwise instructed. There will be no change in fees for commercial customers.

Municipal staff are finishing town cleanup this week. They are also actively clearing cemeteries and parks, but we expect cemetery clean-up to take considerable time. We want to thank our staff for their ongoing efforts, and residents for their continued patience and cooperation.
