On August 13, 2023, members of the Essex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were conducting proactive patrols when they noticed a mischief at Erie Street South in Leamington.

The investigation determined that six individuals attended the location on August 13, 2023, between 12:00 a.m. and 12:20 a.m., with paint cans and spray paint and defaced the crosswalk.

Descriptions of the individuals are:

• Males between the age of 17-25 years old
• One wearing a yellow sweater
• One wearing a blue sweater with writing on it
• One had grey sweatpants on
• All individuals had bandanas, dark in colour

It is believed that there are witnesses and video of the event.
