Swimming Under a Strawberry Full Moon with Joan Murray Barton

My journey continues with Cold Water Swimming and trying to swim under each full moon. I missed May because it was cloudy but the night of June 3rd was just great.

Tony and I made our way over to Colpoy’s Bay dock on the Bruce Peninsula to wait for the rising of the June Strawberry full moon.

It was a little hazy from the forest fires up north but she finally appeared and as you can see she was beautiful. The water was like glass and warm (16.5C at least).

According to the experts I am no longer cold water swimming. Fifteen degrees Celsius seems to be the tipping point and I can attest the water does now feel warmer. I’ve now increased my swimming time to twice the temperature of the water.

This morning it was 15.5C and I swam for 30 minutes still using gloves and booties.

My hope is that more people will open their minds to the possibilities of trying CWS. You are so well placed in Kingsville to do this!!

As I’ve said before I feel 20 years younger and it has changed my life no question!

Here’s hoping for a clear sky for July’s full moon.

Cheers!
Joan Murray Barton
